Our Story

I'm Stephen Rosen, co-founder of iJuanaBox, who, after 15 years of suffering from degenerative knee issues that left me immobilized and in pain, discovered a product that supported my efforts to reclaim my active lifestyle and my life.

This solution didn't have serious side effects like the many OTC and prescription medications I'd taken for years. But it also didn't make me feel strange. It had no psychotropic or hallucinogenic properties at all. Of course, you know I'm talking about cannabidiol (CBD).

I won't lie to you and say I'm pain-free. My condition was more severe than most. Years of competitive sports had taken their toll.

But after some experimentation, I was able to cut my pain in half, which was more than enough to get back out there and enjoy life as a man in his 60's. With a background in technology, environmental and sports sciences, I knew - then and there - that I wanted to learn everything I could about CBD.

But what I found was shocking. There's a lot of conflicting information out there. And the CBD industry is very unregulated. So there's little oversight or incentive to deliver a safe, quality product.

It's a buyer beware kind of marketplace.

Even with my science background, it wasn't easy to separate the fact from the hype to find high-quality CBD products. That's why my partner and I founded iJuanaBox; to help people cut through the fiction and get the best CBD products for their unique health needs.

Our Commitment To You

We founded iJuanaBox, premium CBD products delivered directly to you, on the principle that finding the high-quality, trustworthy CBD products that work for you shouldn't be complicated.

We're committed to helping people like you explore CBD for themselves through careful evaluations and testing from seed to sale to find the highest quality, most carefully formulated CBD products on the market, customized especially for various efficacies.

We have done the research and sorted through the empty promises and claims to find the best products to match your unique customer profile.

Our Products

Your health and wellness are our passion. Because we know that when you’re healthy and well, you experience all the richness, joy and beauty that life has to offer. We channel our passion into every product we sell. And we know that when we offer products that support your wellness goals in tangible ways, you’ll want to keep getting your CBD products here and share your successes with others.

To this end, we take our business and your health and safety seriously, thus our products meet our high standards:

  • Hemp-derived

This both reduces the need for dangerous over-processing methods. And it allows us to provide our individual products and curated boxes available to people throughout the U.S. While the hemp plant looks like marijuana cannabis in its natural state, it does not cause intoxication and is legal for sale throughout the U.S.

  • Less than .3% THC

THC is the substance in marijuana that causes mental effects. Hemp is naturally low or even absent in THC.

  • Safely Extracted

A safe extraction process is essential for a reliable product. Studies have shown that many extraction methods can leave potentially harmful chemical residues in the finished product. Our products avoid that..

  • Natural Farming Practices

Products are grown free of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers and are made from non-GMO hemp and gluten free.

  • Third-Party Tested

Testing by a third party with no conflict of interest helps keep companies honest. We require all our products to be 3rd party lab tested.

  • Properly Labeled

Because of the testing, we know that what's on the label is in the bottle.

  • Transparent

Just ask us. We’ll tell you. We’ll openly share our details about our products, sources, testing method, extraction method and anything else you want to know.

  • Formulated for Specific Efficacies

We select products ideally formulated for distinct efficacies, taking the guesswork out of finding the right products for your unique wellness needs. For this reason, iJuanaBox isn't your mainstream CDB source.

Our Scientific Advisory Board

At iJuanaBox, living active and well is at the core of everything we do. To that end, we put the science first. We strive to deliver the most scientifically-validated information. Our goal is to offer the safest and most effective products to our customers through our marketplace. Our Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) provides this strategic guidance and direction for the company so that we can do just that. We are honored and fortunate to have highly regarded, respected and accomplished industry professionals as members of our SAB. We invite you to get to know our scientific advisory board team.

Scott Hacker, M.D., is a specialist in Sports Medicine, Arthritis & Pain Management. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and he is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is also the Principal Investigator at Horizon Clinical Research.

A native San Diegan, Dr. Hacker, returned to San Diego in August 2003. He came back to bring world-class training and expertise to athletes and individuals of all ages.

He has a particular interest in advanced arthroscopic techniques. He has performed 1000’s of joint replacement surgeries and he's also very interested in alternatives to joint replacement surgery. Like so many in the medical community, he's asking how scientific advancements can help people live better. How can we reduce the need for surgery? This led him to explore scientific research on CBD and to our company.

Dr. Hacker worked with the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Rockies and the U.S. Olympic Ski Team. He continues to treat professional, college, high school and recreational athletes. He was awarded the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship; a prestigious award from the internationally-famous Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado.

Dr. Hacker continues to teach arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery and he serves as a clinical instructor to the San Diego Sports Medicine Fellowship program.

Mark Waltzman, M.D. is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and Associate in Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine. He is Chairman of Pediatrics at South Shore Hospital (a regional medical center with a level 2 trauma center, a pediatric Emergency Department with a volume of approximately 21,000 patients per year and a total ED volume of approximately 85,000 visits per year). He is responsible for management of more than 160 physicians (both hospital based and primary care on staff at South Shore Hospital) caring for children less than 21 years of age in the pediatric emergency department, in-patient pediatric unit, newborn nursery, special care nursery, neonatal intensive care unit, and ambulatory specialty clinics, and serves as an Associate in Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital

His responsibilities include direct patient care, research and education. Dr. Waltzman's role as an educator includes teaching medical students from Harvard Medical School and Boston University as well as pediatric medical residents and emergency medicine residents from Harvard affiliated training programs. He is active in education of Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellows at Boston Children's Hospital through core lectures as well as case based and bedside teaching.

He speaks nationally and internationally as an invited speaker on topics as varied shock, trauma and "can't miss diagnosis". Dr. Waltzman works with hospital administration on process improvement, patient satisfaction, utilization of resources and documentation at both facilities. As a physician, he considers his primary goal to improve and enhance the patient and family experience.

Dr. Waltzman has conducted and published extensively on topics around process improvement, technology in healthcare and resource utilization. He has been instrumental in developing clinical research programs in community hospitals.

This clinical trial experience of both Dr. Hacker and Dr. Waltzman are important to iJuanaBox. That's because it demonstrates a professional understanding of the burden-of-proof on researchers studying CBD. This, of course, is something sorely lacking within many organizations.

Dr. Jennifer Rosen

Dr. Rosen has always had an interest in how function affects structure and how structure affects functional ability. Early dance training as a child and young adult awakened a serious enjoyment and curiosity in this regard.

She started her dance career while receiving a BFA at Ohio University in Dance. There, she pursued a rigorously disciplined examination of how the whole body moves and adapts to the physical conditions of dance space. A tacit dancer's understanding of how the body works in response to physical demands evolved. Her expertise lead her to provide prescribed exercise programs for clients in need.

As time progressed, Dr. Rosen decided to switch gears from a Dance career and pursue a Chiropractic career, receiving her Doctorate of Chiropractic from The Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1991 and opening her own practice in 1995 in Ventura, California.

From a study of Dance and Chiropractic, Dr. Rosen pursued a bio-mechanical study of Restorative Exercise principles resulting in more applicational insights to correct structural problems that lead to injury. Moreover, as a Doctor of Chiropractic, she has continued to study alternative ways to address pain and structural imbalances by not only incorporating prescribed exercise, but also by other approaches and alternatives to drugs and surgery.

Dr. Rosen has had a long relationship with several supplement companies, so that she may continue to be informed and abreast of alternative ways to address pain and less-than-optimal health. Her practice includes healing massage techniques and multiple therapeutic modalities, including state of the art cold lasers for reduction of pain and inflammation.

Her interest in functional medicine has led her to address patient diets and supportive supplemental regimens when necessary. Dr. Rosen's practice includes working relationships with orthopedists, Family Practitioners, and many other medical professionals by way of referral and collaborative efforts.

Dr. Stace Nelson-Hicks, DACM is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Nationally Certified Herbologist as well as a certified Functional Medicine Practitioner. During the two decades of her private practice (ELIXIR Lifestyle Medicine) in Ventura, California, she has treated pain, Ob/Gyn concerns, fertility issues, skin problems, respiratory problems and all aspects of health and wellness, helping her clients optimize their physical and emotional well-being.  Her expertise incorporating Eastern and Western medical and lifestyle protocols allows her to work with local physicians to give her patients the best possible care by working as part of an integrative team.

Natural health has been a way of life for Stace since 1984 when in a college nutrition class she became keenly aware of the connection between her food consumption on a daily basis and her performance, which was of great importance as a competitive athlete in a Sports Medicine major. Further studies in biochemistry, physiology, biology and athletic training, enabled her to build health promoting principles that she continues to use, creating wellbeing and balance that lasts to this day.

After a career producing Western medical segments for television, she went to Asian Medical school, where she studied integrative medicine, herbology and acupuncture.  She then went on to become a California State Board licensed medical professional and nationally certified herbologist and acupuncturist in clinical practice.  She continued her studies and became certified in Functional Medicine.  Always seeking ways to nurture her patients’ health, she earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

She now focuses on empowering and educating patients in natural ways to maintain wellness and reach their own personal health goals.
